We Welcome You With Open Arms And Open Minds
About Us
Our Community
We welcome you with open arms and open minds. We nurture our members’ Jewish identities with dedication to Torah, traditions, and each other. We encourage every member, new and old, to connect with our multi-generational, multi-cultural, diverse community.
Since 1942, our center has been a house of worship, a place of learning, and a gathering place for generations of Brooklyn families. Whether you grew up here, just moved to the neighborhood, or are finding your way back to Jewish life, you have a home at Ave Z.

Our Home
Established in 1942 and incorporated in 1947, our synagogue at 875 Avenue Z has been a fixture of Jewish life in the neighborhood for more than eighty years, from its stained glass windows to the memorial plaques honoring those who came before us.
